Whether you have yet to start shopping for your bridal gown or you are still looking, we understand it can be a daunting experience, if not a little bit stressful! That is why from the moment you enter our boutique, our main aim is to provide a fun, informal and relaxed environment that is focused entirely around you.

 

We pride our self on our service so always ensure you have the place to yourself - there's no rush or sharing with others. We also allow you to select from our entire collection so you can be confident you have found 'The One'. And with our dedicated accessory corner, we have everything on hand to complete your bridal look.  

 

To help you prepare and know what to expect from your time with us, we have answered some common questions below. We have also created a little video to watch.

When should I start looking?

We don't believe it is ever too soon to start looking and getting ideas. It's rare brides end up with the first dress they try on. But a good time to start would be about 12 months before the wedding. Dresses can take up to 6 months to be made and fitted although shorter timescales are possible for an additional charge. We also have a selection of 'off-the-peg' dresses which you can take away on the day.

 

Do I need an appointment?

We recommend you book an appointment to ensure you get the full Silver Sixpence experience. This guarantess our full undivided attention without any distractions. You will also get exclusive use of the boutique and private changing area so you can make yourself feel at home away from any prying eyes.

If you are unable to plan too far ahead don't worry. It is always worth calling us last minute to see if we have any availability and we will do our best to accommodate.  

 

What if I can't make my appointment?

No problem. We understand life is busy and things do, unfortunately, get in the way sometimes. Just give us a call or send us an email to let us know. We will be more than happy to rearrange with you for another time.

How do I place my order?

To order your gown, we require a 50% deposit. The balance is then due upon collection, usually in 12-16 weeks time.

 

Will my dress need to be altered?

Our dresses are made to order to standard dress sizes. It is likely therefore that you will want to get some minor alterations done to ensure that perfect fit. We choose our designers carefully for not only the style and quality of the dresses but also their flexibility so it is usually possible to make some minor amendments to the dresses for an additional charge.

 

 

Do I need to bring anything?

We recommend you wear neutral underwear as it's less noticeable under the dresses. If you are planning on having an 'up do', hair clips would be useful too. Feel free to bring any shoes or accesroies to try on with the dresses, althgouh we have loads for you to choose from if you dont have these yet.

 

Who should I bring?

We have plenty of space for all your friends and family, we are only really limited by the size of our kettle! We do however recommend you limit who you bring to those who you value their opinion the most. It is likely everyone will have their own favourite, but what matters most is you choose the one that's right for you.

  

Do I need to know what size and style I am looking for?

Not at all. Whether you have an idea of what you want or not, our experienced team can offer advice and guidance on what might best suit you. But don't just take our word, as we have an extensive collection of dresses in a range of sizes you can try a few different styles and decide what you like the most.
